My name is Duarte Goncalo De Brito Lopes. Throughout my life, I've always been curious and eager to broaden my knowledge and perspectives. This has driven me to explore unique destinations beyond my own culture, such as Madagascar, Tibet, Nepal, Guatemala, Namibia, and Oman, among others. On a professional level, this curiosity has fueled my commitment to continuous learning, with the goal of enhancing our crucial role as Airline Pilots. Consequently, I have pursued studies and training in Marketing, life coaching, Mental health first aid, CRM, Human factors & system safety, and have sought ways to integrate these disciplines into our career.

Being a part of the Safety team allows me to apply the knowledge and experiences gained from a 30-year career in aviation, working in diverse multicultural environments. One of the valuable lessons I have learned is to approach life with a beginner's mind, cultivating openness and humility to mitigate biases and support ongoing learning in this role.

In line with this mindset, I have explored various hobbies, pursuits, and activities, including free diving, owning a Mexican food restaurant, and establishing an NGO to support crew members and promote social responsibility initiatives within the airline industry.

Currently, my latest hobbies involve playing online chess with my son and rediscovering the pleasure of reading physical books. Holding a book and turning its pages provides a distinct experience, a break from constantly looking at screens.

As one of my mentors wisely advises, "Keep owning it throughout your life."

Hello everyone, I'm Gabriela Agnieszka Czerwinska, the SmartLynx Ground Instructor. Some of you may already know me from our conversations during flights or coffee breaks at different SmartLynx bases. However, there are many new colleagues I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, but I'm eager to do so.

Flying can be described as a combination of sweet moments and challenges. It may be a new experience for some, while others face it as a test of patience and personal limits. We all have doubts, difficult moments, insecurities, and stories we hesitate to share out of fear of judgment. These experiences shape who we are. However, it's important to remember that you don't have to face them alone.
